garden update by Shannon Welles

We’ve been very busy these past two weeks at the HC garden! We’ve installed pavers in front of our tool shed, built raspberry trellises, built a worm bin, planted starts for fall crops, and put river rock along the sidewalk near the shed. We have a few more tasks to complete before the rain begins and will be working diligently on them in the next couple of weeks. Thanks to all of our encouraging passersby. Your comments are appreciated.

Up coming work parties, by Chris Burke

Work parties for the week of September 11, 2011 will occur on Wednesday September 14 and Saturday September 17, at 4pm and 9am, respectively. We’re going to be working on several tasks, including posting signage, organizing our tool shed, building raspberry trellises, constructing compost facilities,  installing stone pavers in front of our shed, finishing the bio swale ditch area, planting of new starts and of course weeding and watering!

Feel free to stop by and say hi, the gardeners always appreciate feedback and we’re always interested in hearing what our neighbors in the community have to say.

We’ll update again in the near future with before and after photos!

We also had a garden meeting the other night and will be posting minutes.
