Classes Between September 2010 and September 2011, The Howell Collective is providing free organic gardening classes, provided by Seattle Tilth, to our neighbors in the community. Pruning Basics for Trees and Shrubs September 24, 2011; 3pm-5pm Dabble in the mysterious art of pruning! New trees, old trees, raspberries and more sometimes need a tweak of two or even annual maintenance. Join us for a hands-on class where we will review basic plant biology, reasons for pruning, timing and tools. We will demonstrate proper pruning cuts and might even tackle a few plants on site.”
